Nicaragua
Wow what an amazing country! Once we finally made it through the crazy border crossing, getting through costa rica's side, walking a mile down a dirt road, putting our stuff down on a picnic table while some man looks through (customs) and then talking through a tiny whole in the wall, paying some money (imigration) we were in the Beautiful country of Nicarague. We quickly headed to the beach! San Juan Del sur. This place was so neat, a small little beach village. The people so nice. The sun So perfect. We were able to do a short hike up to this amazing statue of christ, resembled after the one massive one in brazil. Not quite as large, but still incredible. With the words written underneath it, Christ we trust you. I loved this. The sunsets and views were incredible. Austin got a little sick with a cold and almost swimmers, so we just relaxed, once he was all healthy again we headed to Lake Nicaragua!! This is one of the biggest frreshwater lakes in the world. Sitting right in the middle are two large Volanoes, Concepion and Maderas. We took a ferry out and stayed on this island for a few days!! It was breathtaking. we were able to mountain bike and scoorter all over the island. We even got to watch a local festival, which including bull fighting/choas. Tons of men in a ring with a very angry bull, made for some good entertainment. Our hostel was peacefull, with amazing views of the lake, our time was amazing! After we headed to the cute little town of Granada. An old spanish colonial town, with a very neat history!! It was neat to see the architect and structure. We went to the most amazing Lagoon, right into the crater of an old voclano. 20,000 years ago imploded on itself and made the most perfect clear, warm water lake. It was just austin and i surrounded by the dense, green nicaraguan jungle. A perfect country! and cheap. we then woke at 2 am to travel to Honduras.....
